Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) Recruitment 2022

The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) started as the Immigration and Passport Unit of the Gold Coast Colonial Police Force under the command of Mr Nevile C. Hill. On attainment of independence in 1957, the rapid expansion of the economy coupled with Ghana’s role as a trailblazer in the African liberation struggle led to the country being swamped with foreign businessmen, tourists and African aliens. To control this influx, a Cabinet decision in 1960 transferred the Immigration Unit to the Ministry of the Interior as a separate department, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took over the issuing of passports. These measures were taken to enhance service delivery. Three (3) years later, the aliens Act 1963, Act 160 was enacted to give legal backing to immigration operations.

GIS Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for Graduate

All candidates are to satisfy the following requirements:

GENERAL DUTIES
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must possess a first degree.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2022.
• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Must be of good character.
• Must not be bonded.
• Must have a minimum height of 173cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163cm (5ft 4inch) for Female.

LAWYERS
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must have served 2 – 5 years at the Bar.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be computer Literate.
• Must be of a minimum age of 21 and not more than 35 years by 31st December, 2022.
• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Must be of good character.
• Must not be bonded.
• Must have a minimum height of 173cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163cm (5ft 4inch) for Female.

ICT
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must possess Higher National Diploma [HND] in ICT.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2022.
• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Must be of good character.
• Must not be bonded.
• Must have a minimum height of 173 cm(5ft 8inch) for Males and 163cm (5ft 4inch) for Female.

ACCOUNTING
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must possess Higher National Diploma [HND] in Accounting.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2022.
• Must be physically and medically fit.
• Must be of good character.
• Must not be bonded.
• Must have a minimum height of 173cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163cm (5ft 4inch) for Females.

STATISTICS
• Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
• Must possess Higher National Diploma [HND] in Statistics.
• Must have completed National Service.
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December, 2022.
